Still using the “weighted club stretch” as your on Still using the “weighted club stretch” as your only warmup? It’s time to upgrade. To hit it long and straight from the 1st tee, you need to “wake up” your hips and mid-back so your body can actually rotate.

Run through these three moves before you even head to the range, a lesson, or get out on the course:

1️⃣ Thread the Needle

The Goal: Mobility in the thoracic spine (mid-back).

The Why: This is the “secret sauce” for a full shoulder turn. It separates your upper body movement from your lower body, preventing that dreaded “flat” backswing.

2️⃣ 90/90 Hip Switches

The Goal: Internal and external hip rotation.

The Why: If your hips are locked from the car ride over, you’ll likely sway or slide. These switches prime your lead hip to clear and your trail hip to load properly.

3️⃣ Standing Thoracic Rotations

The Goal: Dynamic rotational range of motion.

The Why: Holding a club across your chest or back teaches your body to rotate around a stable axis. It’s the ultimate “calibrator” for your swing rotation before you start swinging at full speed.

The Result? A wider arc, more speed, and a lot less “first-hole rust.”

A true sports fanatic, Nick’s journey started in Schaumburg, where his competitive drive led him to the varsity basketball courts. He took that passion for performance to Iowa State University, earning a degree in Kinesiology with a focus on Exercise Science.

While at Iowa State, Nick served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Club Hockey team, and since then, he has worked with everyone from youth athletes to professionals. Since 2021, he has applied his NASM Golf Fitness Certification to help golfers unlock more speed, stability, and longevity in their games.

Nick is driven by one thing: helping you reach your goals. Whether you are looking to shave strokes off your handicap or simply move better in your daily life, Nick is here to guide your athletic journey.
