Joe Sheren is an Award winning PGA Professional who has been challenging the status quo for all 20+ years of his coaching. Joe is the recipient of the 2022 Teacher of the Year Award from the Illinois PGA, as well as included in the 2023-2024 Best Young Teachers in America by Golf Digest. He is also the recipient of the 2019 Illinois Player Development Award. Additionally, he has been nominated 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year as well as 2018 Player Development Award. He is a class A member of the PGA of America, as well a graduate from Ferris State Universities Professional Golf Management program. In his tenure, Joe has been fortunate to work at some of the Countries’ finest golf facilities including Congressional Country Club, PGA National Resort & Spa, Old Marsh Golf Club, Boyne Resort USA and The Glen Club.

The time spent at these facilities has introduced him to a wide variety of members and players with different levels of interest in the game, styles of play, personalities, and backgrounds, all in which expected and received the highest level of customer service and golf instruction. Joe has devoted much of his time to study extensively on biomechanics, kinesiology, and physical fitness as they pertain to the golf swing.

Joe has extensive training using the world’s best bio-mechanical technology learning that, even though there is a long list of actions that all good players possess, there is no one method or swing style that works for everyone. Joe has a tremendous amount of passion for the game and will never stop learning how he can continue to make this game more enjoyable for everyone knowing that enjoyment in anything is a key element to continue on and in-turn help grow this extraordinary game.

Joe is married to Katie Sheren and is the father of two boys, Oakley and Tate, and his daughter Palmer.
