What is Deliberate Practice?
- It’s an activity SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to improve performance
-
-
- Requires that one identify certain sharply defined areas that need to be improved and work intently on them. Your coach will help you design your deliberate practice.
- The greatest performers isolate remarkably specific aspects of weaknesses and focus on just those areas until they are improved before moving on to the next step.
-
-
- The most effective deliberate practice activities are those that can be repeated at a very high volume.
- There is an undeniable trend in the world’s best performers and the astronomically large amount of time and effort spent ‘practicing’.
- FEEDBACK on results is CONTINUOUSLY available
-
-
- If you can’t see what you are actually executing and the effects from the execution, two things will happen: you won’t improve, and you’ll stop caring.
- Our facilities and technology create the necessary feedback environment for real long term improvement.
- It’s HIGHLY DEMANDING MENTALLY
-
-
- Deliberate practice is above all an effort of focus and concentration. Working on areas where you are weak places enormous stain on one’s mental abilities.
- The practice is so demanding that one cannot sustain it for a long period of time. We recommend that you keep practice sessions to a maximum of 60-90 minutes.
-
- Working on one’s weaknesses is a humbling experience, and takes a lot of personal willpower to commit to addressing and improving areas where you are lacking.
- If the activities that lead to greatness were easy and fun, then everyone would do them.
- Most people won’t commit to deliberate practice because it is hard. Your willingness to do so will help distinguish you from the rest.
