chris goswami (MSc; BSc; PGCE)

Fitness COACH

As both an academic and evidence-based fitness coach, Chris is a master’s degree educated, university lecturer, golf researcher and certified personal trainer (CYQ) with over 15 years of experience within the exercise science and fitness industries.

He has a masters degree (MSc) in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK, and he also has a bachelors degree (BSc) in Sport and Exercise Science from Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK. He also completed his teaching certification (PGCE) and moved into teaching at Middlesbrough College, UK. He moved up through the ranks from teaching into program management and became the program leader for degrees in Strength and Conditioning and Sport Therapy with Rehabilitation.  He specialised in teaching subjects such as Exercise Physiology, Fitness Training & Programming, and Exercise, Health & Lifestyle. 

He was most recently working with an elite junior golf development squad, developing pre-round warm-up routines. The first output from this was presented at the World Scientific Congress of Golf 2024, and the full research article ‘Acute effects of different warm-up protocols on junior golfers’ drive performance’ has completed peer review and will be published in the next edition of the International Journal of Strength and Conditioning (IJSC). His second output is in the data analysis phase and is a unique qualitative study of perceptions and practices of S&C in elite junior golfers, and should be published in 2025. 

He recently relocated from the UK to Roscoe Village, Chicago, with his family. They enjoy the Chicago food and drink scene and love to visit Lincoln Park Zoo.
