The first rule of being a great athlete is confidence. If you’re hungry to reach your goals you have to confidently pull the bow back and hunt failure in order to fill yourself up on success. Teaching you how to manage failure and hunt with confidence is my number one priority.

ANDREW GODBOLD
GOLF COACH
Andrew is a PGA Associate with a golf journey unlike any other. A dream chaser, Andrew went to Junior College with the goal of becoming a professional baseball player. After a knee surgery and transferring schools, the Oak Park, IL native had the 24th highest batting average in Division 1 JUCO along with All-Region and All-Conference honors at Triton College leading to a full scholarship to play at Southeastern Louisiana University. Andrew’s momentum didn’t slow down as he hit .349, a team leading 58 RBI, and led the Lions to their first regional victory in 20 years. In that same game he was featured on ESPN Top 10 plays throwing out the tying run at home in the bottom of the 10th inning. Andrew was the Southland Conference Newcomer of the year, voted LSWA All-Louisiana Newcomer of the year and LSWA first team All-Louisiana, NCAA All-Region, Southland All-Conference, and voted to the 2010’s Southeastern All-Decade team having the 6th highest batting average and on-base percentage in school history. Andrew made his childhood dream of being a professional baseball player come true through extreme hard work and dedication to his craft, culminating in being drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 23rd round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
Andrew was able to translate his significant work ethic, skill, and talent as a baseball player into a successful coaching career. With over ten years coaching experience at the high school, college, and professional levels, Andrew understands the mental and physical discipline required to be great and has an innate ability to connect and communicate what is required with his students.
Andrew began playing golf in 2016. He joined the membership of SMART Golf & Fitness Instruction in 2020 with a handicap of 10. Over the course of less than two years in the program he lowered his handicap to a 2 and placed 4th Nationally in the GolfWeek Amateur Tour B flight in 2021. With his unprecedented growth in the program, Andrew joined the staff in April 2023.
As a former professional athlete with over ten years of coaching experience and as a successful product of the SMART Golf & Fitness Instruction program, Andrew has the ability to connect with his students through shared experience while teaching the mental discipline and physical skills to accelerate their game.
